When I sat down to watch the trailer for The War with Grandpa, I was immediately blown away with the cast list. The star power in the "old school" generation in this movie is beyond belief - Robert DeNiro, Christopher Walken, Jane Seymour, and Cheech Marin. I have quite literally been watching these incredibly talented actors my entire life and was thrilled to have the chance to talk with Cheech Marin and Jane Seymour about the movie and working with each other.
In fact, it was partly the opportunity to all work together that drew these actors to the film. Jane Seymour quipped during the interview that what made her interested in the project was "the chance to be the love interest of Robert DeNiro." Later, Seymour continued talking about the fun she had on set when asked about working on a sequel in the future that she would be interested in hearing more about.
As you watch the movie, it's clear that there were a lot of laughs and a lot of hard work that went into making the film. One of the funniest scenes is a dodgeball game and, of course, we had to jump at the chance of asking them what it was like filming that particular sequence. Seymour shared that while some stunt doubles were used, it was mostly her participating in the fun. Marin then jumped in to say he was the stunt double for Seymour - haha! Probably not to anyone's surprise, Marin also shared that ad libbing was popular on set, as it is in so many comedies, to keep each take fresh.
At the end of the day, both Marin and Seymour can't wait for families to see this movie. Like many others, Seymour shared that she "can't wait to watch it with [her] grandchildren" and Marin shared that "hopefully it will bring families together." Check out the full interview below!
