3 Reasons to Watch Once Upon a Snowman on Disney+

2020 hasn't always given us much to smile about, but Disney+ has delivered a new short that will certainly brighten your day.  Once Upon a Snowman tells us what happens to everyone's favorite snowman, Olaf, in the moments following Elsa bringing him to life in "Let it Go" and when he meets up with Kristoff and Anna.  Clocking in at under 10 minutes, you won't need much time to dive into this little short.  Here's 3 reasons to check it out!

  1. A Walk Down Music Memory Lane - One of my favorite parts of the short was the fact that we had the chance to hear a few clips from the music that made Frozen such an iconic film.  The short starts with Elsa belting out "Let it Go" and just a few minutes later, you get to hear Kristoff's "Reindeer are Better than People" tune as Olaf makes his way to Wandering Oaken's Trading Post.  There's even some lyrics that you'll recognize from "In Summer" as Olaf clearly gets inspiration for his song in an unlikely place!
  2. Physical Comedy - Nothing still makes my boys laugh like good old fashioned spills and tumbles.  Olaf is on the run during part of the short and, in true Olaf fashion, we see him quite literally falling apart as he rolls down hills and falls off mountains.  It was truly some good laugh out loud fun for the boys!
  3. Some People Are Worth Melting For - You know, at the end of the day, it just feels good to see something familiar yet new.  The characters in Frozen have been so popular and have become such iconic parts of our culture, it simply feels warm and fuzzy to watch them on screen together again.  And, Josh Gad is always worth melting for in my book. . .so there's that.

Remember that time I got to walk the red carpet at the Frozen 2 World Premiere?  THAT was pretty awesome!  Check it out!

Don't miss your chance to check out Once Upon a Snowman, now streaming on Disney+.  It's the perfect way to turn your frown, upside down on a tough day!

The previously untold origins of Olaf, the innocent and insightful, summer-loving snowman who melted hearts in the Academy Award®-winning 2013 Disney animated feature, Frozen, and its acclaimed 2019 sequel, are revealed in the all-new Walt Disney Animation Studios animated short, Once Upon a Snowman. The film follows Olaf’s first steps as he comes to life and searches for his identity in the snowy mountains outside Arendelle. Once Upon a Snowman is directed by Trent Correy (animation supervisor, “Olaf” in Frozen 2) and Dan Abraham (veteran story artist who boarded Olaf’s “When I Am Older” musical sequence in Frozen 2) and will debut exclusively on Disney+ October 23, 2020.
