WandaVision - Image from Disney+ |
WandaVision has been streaming on Disney+ for less than 48 hours and is taking the Internet by storm. Critics are raving and everyone is in love with the quirky new addition to the Marvel universe. But is it OK for kids to watch? Other Marvel movies gain mixed reviews on their kid-friendliness often carrying PG-13 ratings, but WandaVision comes in with a PG rating and appears to be much more appropriate for younger viewers. The bigger question may be whether or not young kids will enjoy WandaVision.

Is WandaVision OK for Kids?
The short answer is a resounding yes. Unlike other Marvel movies, there aren't prolonged violent superhero engagements. This show is truly like taking a step back in time to The Dick Van Dyke Show, The Mary Tyler Moore Show, Bewithched, I Love Lucy, and many more. Like those shows from the past, you can tune into WandaVision with no concerns when watching with your little ones.

But Will Your Kids Enjoy WandaVision?
A very subjective question indeed! If your kids go into thinking "Marvel! Superheroes! Avengers Assemble!" they will likely be disappointed in my mind. Through the first two episodes there's none of that typical Avengers feel. But, if your kids enjoy quirky, unusual, and good, clean funny jokes - I think they may like watching it with you. They likely won't get all the references to the older television shows unless you have been raising them on the classics - but it's fun either way!
About WandaVision (from Disney+)
Marvel Studios presents “WandaVision,” a blend of classic television and the Marvel Cinematic Universe in which Wanda Maximoff (Elizabeth Olsen) and Vision (Paul Bettany) – two super-powered beings living idealized suburban lives – begin to suspect that everything is not as it seems. The new series is directed by Matt Shakman; Jac Schaeffer is head writer.
