Clifford The Big Red Dog Movie Review
I have to admit, that I was a little skeptical about a CGI Clifford being able to "paw" his way into my heart, but this story is nearly perfect. Audiences meet Clifford in a way we're not used to seeing him - as a teeny tiny little puppy. Through a little magic and a lot of love, Clifford grows to be a big delight and a big problem for Emily Elizabeth (Darby Camp) and her Uncle Casey (Jack Whitehall). Over a crazy few days, Clifford quickly becomes part of the family, but they also have to protect him from a dangerous situation which threatens to separate Emily and Clifford forever.

The actors in the movie are brilliant at bringing their beloved characters to life. Camp is a wonderful choice as Emily Elizabeth. She is vulnerable, energetic, and innocent in her portrayal of a character that is learning to navigate some difficult peer issues in middle school. Her character faces students at school being mean to her and teasing her about her family. Through the film, kids will see her growing to be more confident in who she is - something that Clifford helps with a lot. Paired with Camp, Whitehall is funny and loving as the adorable Uncle Casey. I love how he loves his niece and his character also goes through some growth during the film.

Clifford The Big Red Dog is easily one of my favorite films of 2021 and I think families will easily fall in love with this one too. You can find Clifford The Big Red Dog in theaters and on Paramount+ beginning November 10, 2021!
About Clifford The Big Red Dog (From Paramount Pictures)
When middle-schooler Emily Elizabeth (Darby Camp) meets a magical animal rescuer (John Cleese) who gifts her a little, red puppy, she never anticipated waking up to find a giant ten-foot hound in her small New York City apartment. While her single mom (Sienna Guillory) is away for business, Emily and her fun but impulsive uncle Casey (Jack Whitehall) set out on an adventure that will keep you on the edge-of-your-seat as our heroes take a bite out of the Big Apple. Based on the beloved Scholastic book character, Clifford will teach the world how to love big!
