Disney's Disenchanted, the long-awaited sequel to Enchanted, hit Disney+ to anxiously awaiting audiences.  Original cast favorites are back including Amy Adams as Giselle, Patrick Dempsey as Robert, James Marsden as Edward, and Idina Menzel as Nancy.  Disenchanted also introduce Maya Rudolph at Malvina and Disney+ favorite Yvette Nicole Brown as Rosaleen.  In the Enchanted sequel, Giselle and Robert are moving their life in New York City to find their fairy tale in the suburbs following the birth of their daughter, Sofia.  However, for Robert and his daughter Morgan, life in the suburbs isn't exactly what it's cracked up to be.  Sensing their unhappiness, Giselle uses a special gift from Edward and Nancy that was given to Sofia - an Andalasian wishing wand - to make a powerful wish.  But when it comes true, Giselle's happily ever after is in danger of changing forever.

For my tastes, I much preferred the naive and sweet Giselle in the first to this battle of evil vs. evil in the second.  However, this film does have some delightful moments - many of which come in the form of musical numbers as the great Alan Menken shared his talents with this film.  I wish there was more James Marsden as he is one of my favorites, but the original cast hasn't lost their ability to bring just the right amount of "corny" to the screen to keep the balance of magic and reality alive.
