The Super Mario Bros. Movie is currently the second highest grossing animated film of all time and is now available to own on digital, 4K Ultra HD, Blu-Ray, and DVD.  I missed this film in theaters as our youngest was born just a few days before it's release, but my husband took our older two boys to see it when it first hit the big screen and I've been hearing for weeks all about it.  Now I've finally had a chance to see what all the fuss is about and fell in love all over again with Mario and Luigi.

I think part of the success of The Super Mario Bros. Movie is the fact that parents have enjoyed a nostalgic look back at the video game world that we remember from our childhood as Mario would endlessly battle Bowser and his legions in search of the elusive Princess Peach.  Kids have also enjoyed video games with these characters as Nintendo has continued to create new and updated content on the Switch in recent years featuring the classic family of characters.  With everyone knowing with the cast of characters and video game features, The Super Mario Bros. Movie easily feels familiar while still being new.  With a short run time of 92 minutes, quality animation from Illumination, and only mild video game peril, parents can feel confident that even the youngest fans will enjoy the film.
